CZ024-FIGURAL GROUP OF HERCULES AND THE CALEDONIAN BULL

Mark: Crossed swords in underglaze blue on bottom of base.
Hercules draped in a lion's skin and wrestling with the bull, with brown marked hide and grey hoofs and horns, on an oval scroll-moulded base applied with colored flowers and lightly enriched in gilding.
Restoration to base, Hercules' fingers and left foot, bull's tail, hoofs and left horn.

The dog stands alert, on all fours, head cocked, ears and tail perked, wearing a collar, skin folds indicated, the face and toe-nails decorated.

C032-DECORATED RELIEF STEIN

A large (3.8L) Mettlach pewter mounted glazed stoneware stein, depicting the town of Rodenstein. The cylindrical vessel molded in low relief with a continuous scene of red-roofed houses, towers and churches rising from a dense thicket of green trees, with inscribed scrolling banners over an outset circular base molded with foliage and berries, the inlaid lid with a crenulated castle molded in high relief.
Impressed model number 2038 and factory marks on bottom.

Mark: Crossed swords in underglaze blue on back of base.
The figure stands leaning forward on his left leg, his right leg bent at the knee, his right arm extending forward at the waist while his left grips the sword hanging at his side. The figure wears a yellow frock with gold edges, decorated with bright floral patterns, cinched at the waist with a blue and gold sash. The base is decorated with green leaves and a white, green and yellow flower.
