JOHN A. METZGER (1872-1945)
John Metzger was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 22, 1872. By 1929 Dr. Metzger, now a physician, had settled in Long Beach. He painted in his leisure and was active in the local Southern California art scene. Several oils painted at Mission San Juan Capistrano are presently known. He died in Long Beach on May 9, 1945. Member: Long Beach AA.
